AFGE District 12 Caucus was held May 7th, at the San Diego Hilton Resort & Spa.

Election results are as follows:

12TH DISTRICT NATIONAL VICE PRESIDENT

Eugene Hudson, Jr. = 22,292 votes

Katrina Lopez = 3,628 votes

12th DISTRICT WOMEN'S ADVISORY COORD.

Bennie Bridges = By acclimation

12th DISTRICT FAIR PRACTICES COORD.

Jenny Salvez = 16,408

Shelly Jordan = 9,566

The 12th District Caucus will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2011, at 9 a.m., at the San Diego Hilton Resort & Spa located at 1775 Mission Bay Drive, San Diego, CA 92109.

Check-in will be open on Friday, May 6, 2011, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday, May 7, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:50 a.m.

The caucus meeting/nominations will commence at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2011. Nominations for the offices of National Vice President, National Fair Practices Affirmative Action Coordinator, and National Women’s Advisory Coordinator will be accepted from delegates by the Election Committee during the Caucus on Saturday, May 7, 2011, following the election of the Election Committee Chair and selection of the other Committee members. The nomination acceptance speeches will follow.

The nominations and election will be held, in accordance with the Caucus Rules, with the polls opening at 12:00 p.m. and closing at 2:00 p.m. A runoff election, if necessary, will be held on the same day in the same location from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

IMPORTANT CHANGES REGARDING YOUR PER CAPITA TAX , COUNCIL DUES & VOTING RIGHTS
Article VI, Section 1 of the AFGE National Constitution states in part: NO LOCAL WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE IN ANY DISTRICT CAUCUS, COUNCIL CONVENTION, NATIONAL CONVENTION OR ON ANY COUNCIL, DISTRICT OR NATIONAL MATTER UNLESS PER CAPITA TAX, BARGAINING COUNCIL DUES AND ANY OTHER ACCOUNTS DUE TO THE FEDERATION OR BARGAINING COUNCILS ARE PAID IN FULL 60 DAYS PRIOR TO CONVENING THE EVENT.
